Whether you have suffered an injury to your knee or if you have just been in some kind of vigorous activity, you may have developed some degree of knee pain. No matter what type of activity you have engaged in, there is a good chance that you will experience knee pain at one point in your life. Regardless of the activity, it is important to make sure that you take care of the problem. Knee pain is often very difficult to treat because you really need to get to the root of the issue in order to eliminate it from your life.

When you go to see your doctor, it is always important to thoroughly discuss your symptoms with him or her. The doctor will ask about your symptom history, and he or she may even perform a physical exam in order to get a better idea of what is going on. In addition to discussing your medical history, the doctor should also discuss your symptoms with you. If your symptoms are new and you don’t believe they are related to a more serious condition, your doctor may wish to perform a diagnostic test such as x-rays, MRI’s or a bone scan in order to determine the source of the pain. Once the cause is determined, your doctor can come up with a treatment plan in order to relieve the symptoms you are experiencing.
